Vipers - Vipers are LBNC's performance team and play in the East Region League, Division 2. This team consists of 9-12 of the club's most talented players. Vipers had a challenging 2009/2010 season finishing 9th in the league, but laid some solid foundations for the year ahead. New and returning players have already started work with existing club members to make this a season of success. Viper's season begins on 26th September and runs through to 10th April 2011, with home matches being played at Tiddenfoot Leisure Centre at 12 noon. Away matches can be on a Saturday or Sunday, and be at any venue in the East of England. Please come and support us. Jets - Jets are LBNC's first team playing in the local Luton and Dunstable weekend League Premier Division, which runs between October and June. Jets sit amongst the strongest teams in this division, often getting a top 3 finishing spot. Jets regularly train with the club's performance squad Vipers and players are often called up to this team for regional fixtures. Harriers - have had a mixed 2010/2011 season but, as always, Harriers have had a fun season. Despite a couple of injuries, 2 honeymoons and losing a player to pregnancy, Harriers should finish mid table having won and lost an almost equal percentage of games in Division One of the Luton and Dunstable League. Everyone in the squad has contributed to some very good team performances, demonstrated by the variety of squad members receiving Player of the Match each week. Harriers expect to remain in Division One next season and will be looking to develop and improve on their performance this year whilst remembering, at all times, the Harriers' philosophy that netball be fun, fair and exciting…..winning is a bonus but Harriers believe the taking part is more important. Player's player - to follow Jaguars - Jaguars are LBNC's third team playing in the local Luton and Dunstable weekend League, and are in Division 2. The squad is made up of some very experienced ladies, youth players and often 'social' members too. Jags normally sit comfortably in the middle part of the table. Comets - Comets are the Club's Veteran's team, for players aged 40 years and over. The team are the backbone to LBNC, many of its players having helped establish the Club some 30 years ago! Comets have achieved some great success over the years and this season will be playing in Division 2 in the Luton & Dunstable weekend League. The team will also be playing in the Milton Keynes Indoor Midweek League - Division 2. LB1 - Leighton Buzzard 1 are LBNC's first team playing in the Milton Keynes Indoor midweek league, Premier Division. Players in this team are of the highest ability in the club, and often include ladies from the regional squad. LB1 finished second in the 2010/2011 season by only 6 points to Netters Diamonds. LB2 - Leighton Buzzard 2 are LBNC's second team playing in the Milton Keynes Indoor midweek league, Division 1. LB2 Finished in 1st place this 2010/2011 season. |
