Leighton Buzzard entered three teams into the open tournament this report is for Jets.
Each game was 5 minutes each way.
Game 1 v Tornadoes Pink,
Jets started off slowly but eventually settled into a rhythm, with some good interceptions from Sheelah. Jets won 5 -3
Game 2 v 7Up Red
The game picked up where they left the last game, with nice shooting from Adrienne and Helen and good defence work Jets cruised to a 9-0 victory.
Game 3 v 7Up White
Jets had another easy victory over the third division team, winning 11-0
Game 4 v LB Jags
Jets donned the white bibs to tell club teams apart, and continued in the same mode to dominate play over LB fifth team. Jags put a good effort in defence and showed that they will be a team to be reckoned with in the fourth division. Jets won 12-2
Game 5 v Crawley White Tornadoes (Premier Division)
This was a tough game and Jets had to pull it out of the bag to win victory, with great circle edge work from Emma and Vicky and good defence from Theresa, Sheelah and Trish. Jets won by 6-4
Game 6 v Panthers
A brand new team, with nice new black and yellow kit, Jets again dominated play with great interceptions by Emma, Vicky, Sheelah & Trish to give us a 13-1 win.
Game 7 v Dallow Saracens
Dallow are the team that once in the circle hardly ever miss a shot at goal, so Jets had to stop them getting it there in the first place, with great centre court and circle edge work from Emma and Vicky, they pulled it off to win 6-4
Semi finals v Red Stripes
Jets really working as a team, and again with great work from all players won 8-4
Tournament Final v 7Up Green
With Jets meeting the second premier team this tournament, they needed to up their game to take the tournament. They had only been on court a few minutes when it started to rain, then the heavens opened and a torrential downpour ensued. Not letting this spoil the record so far, Jets put in extra effort to block passed into the attack and turn them around with great passes into the circle, and great shooting from Helen and Adrienne Jets finished 7-4 up to win the tournament.
