Jets v Crawley White Tornadoes Match 5

Jets started out with dominate play to gain a lead in the early minutes of the game, and then built on this lead with good centre court work and great defence allowing the shooters, Adrienne Doyle and Helen Hazell to maximize opportunity and take the first quarter 10-2.

White Tornadoes were determined to cut this lead and put up a valiant defence with several interceptions in the shooting circle.  Jets also were fighting with their defence of Jenny Payne, Theresa Kwok and Trish Travell doing a great job of turning around possession to give Jets the ball yet again.   Although Jets only scored 1 more than White Tornadoes the first quarter lead left the score at 17-8 to Jets.

With Jets bringing on Julia Monger as GA the aim was to combat the defence of White Tornadoes, this did not go as planned, and Jets had to work really hard to get the ball into the shooting circle with White Tornadoes picking off the ball, it was again down to Jets defence to save the day and turn around possession.  Jets managed to gain an extra 2 goal advantage finishing the quarter 25-14.

Again Jets made some changes at the attacking end and at last got the formula right for this opposition, with great defence work, blocking of the shooters and several superb interceptions  Jets were able to maximise the opportunities,  and got back to previous form  gaining an extra 6 goal advantage to finish the match 34 goals to White Tornadoes 17.
